GARDEN DISTRICT. Antebellum mansions and weeping willows line the streets of New Orleans' historic Garden District. See the beauty of this exquisite neighborhood, which was home to the city's plantation-wealthy and entrepreneurs, on an informative and relaxing stroll. Zombie's Voodoo Shop (between Bourbon and Royal), then cruises the historically haunted landmarks of the French Quarter. Walkers get to visit the St. Louis Cemetery and see the tomb of Marie Laveau, a legendary voodoo priestess. Tours are given on the hour of this property that resembles an English country estate. The last tour of the day is 4pm, but the best time to explore this beautiful garden and home is in the morning. Settled in the 18th century, Oak Alley is famous for its double rows of magnificent oak trees and restored 19th century mansion, built by sugar planter Jacques Telesphore Roman. Today authentic furnishings and reproductions adorn the home, and guides, dressed in period costume, offer tours of the interior.

Discover the wonders of the bayous or steal breathtaking overviews of the city and the port of New Orleans while on a Southern Seaplane Tour. Located 20-minutes south of the city in Belle Chasse, this airplane touring service offers both a 35-minute and 2-hour tour.
